Addiction

Addiction encompasses the use of substances (alcohol, illicit and prescribed drugs) and the engagement in behaviors (gambling, gaming, internet, sex, shopping) that become compulsive in nature despite harmful consequences. 

Anxiety

An emotion characterized by apprehension and somatic symptoms of tension in which an individual anticipates impending danger, catastrophe, or misfortune.
